Hofmeister has a general practice of law with an emphasis in the areas of civil litigation, corporate, employment, banking, bankruptcy, estate planning, and probate law. He earned a degree with high distinction in History from Colorado State University. He continued his education at the University of Nebraska College of Law where he earned his Juris Doctorate degree in 1978. He was a member of The University of Nebraska Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. He was also presented the George L. DeLacy Memorial Award which is given each year to the law student excelling in constitutional law and who exemplifies compassion and understanding for human rights under the law. Mr. Hofmeister began his practice in Scottsbluff in 1980. He is a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association and the Scotts Bluff County Bar Association. He serves his a past president of the Nebraska Lawyers Trust Account Foundation and regularly assists the Volunteer Lawyers Project by taking cases on a pro bono basis. Within the community, Mr. Hofmeister has served as the chairman of the Scotts Bluff County United Way, the Panhandle Substance Abuse Council, the Scottsbluff Booster Club and YMCA. He is active in Rotary and is a member of the Board of Directors of Regional West Foundation, Scottsbluff County United Way and the Executive Board of the YMCA. Paul is also the chairman of the City of Scottsbluff Economic Development Committee. |
